The NFL draft is finally here. Below is the 1st round mock draft from TheSportsKave:

1)      Indianapolis Colts:

Andrew Luck (QB)

This was the biggest no brainer of the draft. The Colts did everything possible to add intrigue but the cat was out of the bag when they allowed Peyton Manning to leave. Luck is the future for the Colts.

2)      Washington Redskins:

Robert Griffin III (QB)

Griffin III is the most electrifying quarterback to come in the league since Michael Vick but a much better passer. Many think he’s better than Luck, me included.

3)      Minnesota Vikings:

Morris Claiborne (CB)

Minnesota throws a curveball and takes a great athlete over a needed offensive lineman.

4)      Cleveland Browns:

Trent Richardson (RB)

To put it in very simple terms, Richardson is a beast and the best running back to come out of college in years. This pick is a no-brainer for the Browns. They need a lot pieces, but starting with a guy that can give you 25 touches per game is a smart move.

5)      Tamps Bay Buccaneers:

Matt Kalil (OL)

The Buccaneers first choice, cornerback,               Morris Claiborne, will be gone here so they fill their other need and address the offensive line.

6)      St, Louis Rams:

Justin Blackman (WR)

Why do I get the filling the Rams are going to throw a curve ball here even though they need a wide receiver?

7)      Jacksonville Jaguars:

Melvin Ingram (DE)

Jacksonville needs help everywhere. For example name their wide receivers? But they are not going to take a chance on a wide receiver, instead they are going safe and choosing Melvin Ingram.

8)      Miami Dolphins:

Ryan Tannehill (QB)

Tannehill has seemed to catch lightning in a bottle and be the next hot commodity. Tannehill did not have the greatest college numbers but the Dolphins need a quarterback in the worst way so they will reach here.

9)      Carolina Panthers:

Fletcher Cox (DT)

For the first time in a long time the Panthers were not very good on defense.  Cam newton can’t play defense so Cox should fit well here.

10)   Buffalo Bills:

Riley Reiff (OT)

With the Bills spending a ton of money on defense in free agency the will turn to protection for Ryan Fitzpatrick which makes Reiff the perfect fit.

11)   Kansas City Chiefs:

David DeCastro (G)

The Chiefs have a solid defense so going offense here makes all the sense in the world and DeCastro is a good fit.

12)   Seattle Seahawks:

Luke Kuechly (LB)

Kuechly was a stud at the combines and the Seahawks need an inside linebacker in the worst way.

13)   Arizona Cardinals:

Michael Floyd (WR)

Floyd is the additional play maker the Cardinals need. Their defense played well down the stretch but Kevin Kolb or whoever the starting quarterback is needs another weapon and Floyd fits that bill perfectly.

14)   Dallas Cowboys:

Mark Barron (SS)

Defense is one of the biggest weaknesses the cowboys have and has been for a while. They can finally address this position with Mark Barron the true baller from Alabama.

15)   Philadelphia Eagles:

Dre Kirkpatrick (CB)

With the trade of Asante Samuel Kirkpatrick is the perfect fit here as they need someone to fill that void. Kirkland is another athlete from Alabama that just knows how to play football.

16)   New York Jets:

Chandler Jones (DE/OLB)

Chandler Jones will go here because the defensive players they want are gone and Jones is the best available. Jones has limitations but he’s a solid pick here.

17)   Cincinnati Bengals:

Stephon Gilmore (CB)

Because of injuries and poor play, Gilmore is the perfect fit here. The Bengals need linebacker and receiver help but those positions can be addressed later in the draft.

18)   San Diego Chargers:

Whitney Mercilus (DE/OLB)

A lot of people have Mercilus going a little later in the first round but because of the Chargers inabilities to rush the passer last year, they can’t pass on Mercilus if he is still available here.

19)   Chicago Bears:

Kendall Wright (WR)

The Bears are known for drafting defensive players early and often, but not this year. After trading for Brandon Marshall the Bears realize they will need a receiver to compliment him and since there are question marks about Johnny Knox availability following back surgery, Wright is the perfect choice.

20)   Tennessee Titans:

Dontari Poe (NT)

They need defensive and wide receiver help, but they will lean towards defense here with the NT from Memphis.

21)   Cincinnati Bengals:

Courtney Upshaw (OLB)

This is a Marvin Lewis pick all the way. They could use help on the offensive line help but when does a defensive coach not take a top defensive player? Never.

22)   Cleveland Browns:

Mike Adams (OT)

The Browns need many picks because they have many holes. Picking Adams here will help open holes for Trent Richardson.

23)   Detroit Lions:

Jonathan Martin (OT/G)

Considering the Lions wanted Mark Barron and he’ll be gone, this is their consolation prize. With that offense, offensive line help is always wanted.

24)   Pittsburgh Steelers:

Don’t’a Hightower (LB)

Yet another Alabama player taken in the first round and this will go well in Pittsburgh who for the first time the Steelers could use linebacker help. The Steelers also need receiver help but that can be addressed later.

25)   Denver Broncos:

Stephen Hill (WR)

The Broncos have a new quarterback in Peyton Manning, now they need to get him some receivers to throw to. They have a stable of good receivers but none really stand out, but that could also be blames on the fact their last quarterback couldn’t throw the ball. Hill should fit nicely here.

26)   Houston Texans:

Michael Brockers (DT)

The Texans need help on the defensive line with Mario Williams moving to Buffalo. The Texans would like a receiver here but will not reach with the best receivers already gone earlier in the draft.

27)   New England Patriots:

Shea McClellin (DE/OLB)

This Boise State alum will help the Patriots get to the quarterback with his pass rushing abilities. This will be a big upgrade for the Patriots.

28)   Green Bay Packers:

Andre Branch (DE/OLB)

The picks they want here are gone and they will not reach for a running back so Branch will be the first 2nd round pick that will be picked in the 1st round.

29)   Baltimore Ravens:

Alshon Jeffery (WR)

This would have been the perfect pick for Vontez Berfict but he disappointed in the combines and then allegedly tested positive for drugs, so instead they will go with a wide receiver need

30)   San Francisco 49ers:

Coby Fleener (TE)

Jim Harbaugh picks one his guys here even though he has one of the top tight ends in football in Vernon Davis. They could use wide receiver help but will not reach at this spot.

31)   New England Patriots:

Harrison Smith (SS)

The Patriots could draft defense with every pick if they want and that would not be ridicules because that’s the area that needs the most help on this team.

32)   New York Giants:

Jonathan Martin (OT)

Martin will fill the offensive line need the Super Bowl champions have
