No go for T.O.?
Terrell Owens and his super agent, Drew Rosenhaus set up a workout for NFL teams on Tuesday in California and not one team showed up. Not one. Reports were that T.O. looked good – in great shape, strong, quick. Typical T.O.
But why would teams balk at him? His age (37) you say? He is still productive as seen last year with him amassing 983 yards and 9 TD’s in 14 games. His attitude? Yes, Owens has always had a big mouth but at this late stage in the game, even he realizes he has to tone it down and was toned down during his stint last year with the Bengals. The knee? He’s had proper time to heal and should be given full clearance by doctors in approximately two weeks.
So who would want him? Well, the Titans have shown interest when Kenny Britt went down, but the intrest has cooled since then. Owens has also said that he wants to play for a contender and when asked about the Raiders and said that he wouldn’t mind playing with Carson Palmer again. Perhaps the Ravens would be a good fit, or what about the Texans?
Truth be told, now that the trade deadline has passed, this will give more value to Owens, especially as the season progresses. We are nearing the halfway point of the season and as time goes on, there will be a need, an injury, something will come up and inevitably teams will realize that Terrell Owens will be the best option out there … for better or for worse.
