News and notes from around the world of MMA. 

  1. UFC president Dana White has confirmed that the first international ‘TUF’ will be in Brazil.  There are also rumors that Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort will be the coaches, but no official word at this time. 
  2. Former Bellator annoucer and ESPN’s ‘MMA Live’ host, Jon Anik has agreed to join the UFC and host the soon to be revamped ‘Ulimate Fighter’ reality show and do play-by-play for UFC fights on FX and Fuel.
  3. Brandon Vera suffered a broken arm after refusing to tap from an armbar attempt by his opponent, Eliot Marshall at UFC 137. Vera is expected to be out six months.
  4. Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic has officially retired following his loss to Roy Nelson at UFC 137.   The Pride legend finished his career with a 27-10-2-1 record. 
  5. Rumors around the campfire indicate that when Jake Shields moves down to middleweight, Damien Maia is more than eager to welcome him to the division.
  6. Fresh off of a win over Dennis Siver at UFC 137, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone wasted little time finding a new challenger, this time in Nate Diaz.  The fight is scheduled for UFC 141 in Las Vegas on December 30th. 
  7. UFC 142 is shaping with the announcement of two fights:  UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will defend his belt against the undefeated Chad Mendes and Vitor Belfort will face Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson
  8. Viacom has purchased a majority share of Bellator Fighting Championships and are looking to show live events starting 2013 on SpikeTV.  Why the delay?  Eventhough the UFC has signed a deal with FOX, SpikeTV still has rights to the UFC library through 2012.
  9. Former UFC vet Phil Baroni aka ‘The New York Badass’, says he’s going ot keep fighting “till the wheels fall off”.  Baroni, 35, is currently fighting for One FC.
  10. The UFC confirmed that the only fight shown on November 12th’s Fox debut will be the Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Sanots fight.  The rest of the bouts will air for free on Facebook and Fox.com.
  11. In more ‘TUF’ 15 news, tryouts for welterweights and lightweights will be held on December 5th in Las Vegas.
