James opts out
LeBron James has opted out of his $35 million contract for the 2018-19 season.
If he chooses to come back to Cleveland, which is still a possibility, he can sign a Super-Max deal for 5-years, which will pay him $207 million. If he moves to another team he can sign a 4-year deal worth $152 million.
James can also re-sign with the Cavaliers for $34.5 million for a 1 year with a 1 year option for $38.2 million, thus becoming a free agent again in 2019.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, James opting out of his contract looks good for the Los Angeles Lakers. Windhorst also stated that James have declined to talk to several teams about joining them.
