GGG vs Canelo 2 is off
The highly anticipated rematch between Gennady Golovkin (GGG) and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is officially off as Canelo, who tested positive twice for a banned substance clenbuterol, awaits punishment from the Nevada Athletic Commission.
Canelo is looking at a possible six month suspension when he faces the NAC on April 18th. If that’s the case, he may be able to fight in September.
This was set to be a huge payday for both fighters as the first match drew over one million pay per view buys.
GGG still wants to fight May 5th, and is looking at possible fighters to make that card happen.
