Tim Locastro was born and raised in upstate New York and played college baseball at Ithaca. He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 2013 MLB Draft.
Known as a scrappy bat in the infield, Locastro batted .283 for the Bluefield Blue Jays of the Appalachian in 2013, .313 for the Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest League in 2014 and .315 for the Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League in 2015.
Locastro was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers organization along with pitcher Chase De Jong and the two helped the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes win the California League championship in 2015.
Locastro advanced to the Double-A Texas League in the middle of the 2016 season and batted .277 with a home run and 13 RBI in 45 games for the Tulsa Drillers.
